Email QA

A Claude skill that runs a pre-send checklist on any email draft or HTML and returns PASS or FAIL per check. For anyone who sends email and wants a structured gate before hitting send.

What it does

Paste the draft or HTML. It works through four gates:

  1. Copy gate. One primary CTA, no fake urgency, no invented proof, subject under 50 characters, preview that complements, subject that matches the email.
  2. Structure gate. Footer, real unsubscribe, terms if there is an offer.
  3. Build gate. Alt text, merge tags resolved, links go where they say, HTML under 102KB.
  4. Brand and dark mode. Tone matches the brand. Logo readable on a dark background.

Works in: Claude (claude.ai Projects or the desktop app), Cursor, or as a manual checklist

Rules inside the skill: no invented proof, no fake urgency, no em dashes, no bait-and-switch subjects

Per check: PASS or FAIL plus a plain-language note

Verdict: ship, or fix these items first

Waivers: intentional exceptions, named, so they do not come back as bugs

How to install

  1. Subscribe below. The SKILL.md file link arrives in the first email.
  2. Download the file. Create a folder: .claude/skills/margarita-email-qa/
  3. Put SKILL.md inside that folder.
  4. In Claude, start a new project and use "Add to project knowledge" to include the skill folder.
  5. Begin with: "Use the margarita-email-qa skill" and paste the email HTML or draft.

Cursor users: place the folder at .agents/skills/margarita-email-qa/.
